Amenorrheoa & secondary fertility difficulties

My Oeuf Experience:
Just under a year ago, on the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment with Emma at Oeuf Therapy Rooms. What was the problem, Emma asked me over the phone? Lack of periods, formally known as amenorrhoea. Since giving birth to my son 18 months previously, my periods had failed to reappear. Encouraging them to return was the first step in getting pregnant again. I'd booked in for an Aromabalance massage and the first consultation lasted for 2 hours. It took a fraction of this time for Emma to realise that amenorrhoea was merely a symptom of a complex mix of physical and emotional problems. Like many new mothers, I was exhausted, physically and mentally. I was underweight, rundown, and lacking in confidence and joy in my daily existence. My husband had been gently suggesting post-natal depression for some time but I was loathe to agree. Looking back now, I am more inclined to admit that he might have been right.

Emma's first suggestion was for me to make an appointment with Helen. Using various diagnostic techniques and referring to a week long food diary that I'd given her, Helen was able to write me a remarkably accurate and useful review of my physical constitution, and she suggested a list of foods that would best get me back into full health. Once armed with this advice, Nourish pre-conception supplements, and the herbal remedy Agnus castus, I returned to Emma for regular Aromabalance sessions. Who can say which element of the multi-faceted treatment approach first set me on the road to recovery? Certainly, it felt as if the Nourish supplement was working quickly to restore my depleted physical self. Similarly, it was clear that the Agnus castus tincture was slowly nudging my body back towards a regular menstrual cycle, and with each massage I felt physically and mentally stronger. Surely the answer must lie in Oeuf's holistic attitude to healing, looking at all symptoms simultaneously. Perhaps most importantly for me was the feeling that I was not alone in trying to resolve my situation; the simple act of sharing the emotional component of my physical state was an enormous help. Having been in constant caring mode since my first child was born, it was great to arrive at Oeuf and be the receiver of care rather than the provider.

My Oeuf story had a remarkably quick and happy ending. My weight, self-esteem and general happiness began to return, and only four months after my first Oeuf appointment I found I was pregnant again. I have returned to Oeuf regularly during the last few weeks of this pregnancy for massages on the special massage table with a hole that allows one to lie on one's front. Like all previous massages at Oeuf, these pregnancy treatments have left me feeling deeply relaxed and positive.
